THE MAXX

My Ozcomics entry for this week. I haven't really read any Maxx comics, i think i had one or two when i was younger, but i can remember drawing him heaps. There's just something about him that makes you wanna draw. Great character design!

I was originally thinking to put alot more detail into the wall with textures and whatnot, but liked the simplicity of just the shadow.

TEELA

Another Ozcomics work, this time Teela from the Masters of the Universe. I had a hard time picking a character for this. Looking through google images memories of the show came flooding back to me and i wanted to draw ALL of them! I always loved that Tri-Klops figure of mine. But i think cause i've been seeing a lot of Ross Campbell's Glory art lately, i wanted to draw a kick-ass female! Clearly channeling some Miller 300 also.
I pencilled it onto an A4 page, but knew straight away: Needs more Arrows. So i duplicated them in PS and opened up the composition a bit more, (originally going rectangle, but Shikha suggested square which i think works well).

Y THE LAST MAN

Another entry for the OzComics weekly challenge. This weeks theme was comic book romance, and i straight away thought of Yorick and 355. But i couldn't do a Y the Last Man drawing without including Ampersand and Dr Mann, so i got them in there too...
Here are my original pencils for this. I always enjoy seeing different work stages so i figured i'd post this up. I scanned it at this point and printed it in light blue to ink over. Which i then brought back into the comp and coloured in PS for the finished version above.
As i was doing this i though it'd look awesome on a tee so i mocked one up to have a look. I want one so bad!
Y the Last Man is one of my all time favourite comic book series. It's incredible and i highly recommend it.
